URA FC 1-0 Express FC
(Mandela National Stadium, Namboole)
URA managed to pick maximum points off a wasteful Express FC side in a league game played at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
Right back Ronald Kigongo fired into an empty net from the distance after Express’ centre back Isaac Mutanga had cleared the ball from the area with his header.
Substitute Brian Umony could have levelled matters but missed with a keeper to beat when his low effort went an inch wide.
The Red Eagles had missed plenty of chances in the first stanza, with Michael Birungi shooting over the bar and Tonny Odur denied by James Alitho.
The Tax collectors looked poor from the start but their second half surge gave Ssimbwa’s charges maximum points.
URA FC climbs to third with 42 points. This is Express’ ninth loss of the campaign.
Next for URA FC is an away game against Nyamityobora on April 6 as Express will host Paidha Black Angels on Tuesday, April 6.
