FIFA Women Rankings: Uganda Descends As Nigeria Tops Africa

Uganda’s senior Women National Football team, The Crested Cranes, have dropped three places according to the newly releases FIFA Women’s rankings.

The list that was released on Friday 29, saw Uganda descend from position 141st to 144th in the world.

In Africa, Uganda occupy position number 20 as the top four teams maintained their spots.

Uganda’s opponents at the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympics qualifiers Ethiopia are ranked 117th in the World and 14th on the Continent.

The Crested Cranes are already in training for Ethiopia with a residential camp in FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

The team has been boosted by the arrival of Sandra Nabweteme and Yudaya Nakayenze.

Nigeria atop, with 2019 Women’s World Cup campaigners Cameroon, South Africa and Ghana occupying the second, third and fourth positions respectively.

Internationally, World champions USA and Germany retained the top two spots, while England soared to third while World Cup hosts, France dropped to fourth in the world.
