Uganda’s senior Women national football team, the Created Cranes will be seeking for a good result against Ethiopia when the two sides face off in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifiers.

Uganda will host Ethiopia in the return leg on April 6 at Lugogo with the winner over two legs set to play Cameroon at the second round.

The team that left Entebbe International Airport on Monday night, managed to train on Tuesday and head coach Bulega is positive that Uganda can get a good result.

However, Bulega expressed some concerns about the unfavourable weather conditions.

“The weather has been good though it rained the moment we stepped foot on the pitch but that can’t get us off the lane as we only anticipate for a good result.

“The players are in good conditions, Nabweteme is yet to arrive in Ethiopia due to technical issues but am told that she is in transit.

“We are going apply both attack and defence strategies to get a win.”

Crested Cranes who held a residential camp in Njeru in preparation for the tie, beat Ethiopia in CCECAFA 2018 2-1 and will be favourites to reach the second round.

The side will rely on Captain Tracy Jones Akiror, Hassifa Nassuna, Ruth Aturo and foreign based trio Yudaya Nakayenze, Sandra Nabweteme and Fazila Ikwaput among others, to win in Addis.
