Warriors are not going to take their next opponents Kampala University Eagles this Saturday for granted.

Coach Ronnie Mutebi, in an exclusive interview with the SportsNation affirmed the development.

The league new comers were baptised with fire in the opener against KIU Titans, losing 75-106 but looked impressive going forward as Kato Joram Ahmed Kassa, Moses Mugisha, Patrick Seduge and Raphael Kayondo all reached double point figures.

“They are new to the big stage so that makes them more ambitious,” Warriors coach Mutebi referring to Kampala University.

“It is a team that has been together for the past years so they gel and bond well on court. We plan to counter their zone defense with our transition and shooting from range.”

Warriors is one of the teams that have showed their intent to dethrone six time defending Champions City Oilers. The side added Jonathan Kambala, Chris Omanye and the return of Michael Buzangu.

The Kyambogo-based side beat KCCA men 75-61 in the opener and will seek to add another win for a perfect start.

“It’s another game we want to use to continue building for the bigger stage as the season progresses.

“We won’t take them for granted because they’re not here by chance. They’ve worked hard to get here and so have we. We hope this game will prepare us more.”

Beside the new additions, Warriors will also rely on Deng Maker, Stanley Mugerwa, Mark Opiyo among others.
