Just like electricity, talent cannot be preserved and is wasted if not put to use.

Ihoops Basketball camp has for the past five years provided a platform where kids can build on their talents.

All is now set for the eighth edition of the kids camp which is scheduled to tip-off next week, May 13-17th at MTN Indoor Arena in Lugogo.

“We plan on having a lot of different activities this camp like having friendly games with a few selected international schools this holiday that we have engaged,” revealed Vicky Ntale, Project Manager of the academy.

“This is to mainly analyze and monitor the kids skill and game improvement according to their age groups.”

The initiative was started by City Oilers guards Ben Komakech and Jimmy Enabu who are now the directors of Ihoops Basketball Academy.

The academy is also intended to give the kids better chances in elevating their skills.

The camp has targeted over 250 kids this holiday camp, it was confirmed.

Ntale added:

“We have a good team of committed coaches and managers and we have a variety of activities we offer to the kids so its just not all about Basketball.

“This camp will offer an opportunity for kids to learn the basics and at the same time engage in friendly games during this camp.”

The target age groups for the camps are 4yrs to 18yrs with registration fee for the camp set at 25,000 per day. The fee comes with a meal for the child, a customised ihoops shirt, Refreshments and a Certificate of Participation.
