Basketball: Rwanda Name Squad For Zone Five In Kampala

Neighbours Rwanda has revealed a 14 man squad that will start preps for the FIBA Africa Zone V qualifiers set for June 26 to July 1 in Kampala, Uganda.

The team is under Serbian coach Vladimir Bosnjak. They had drills from Monday to Wednesday thus week.

Rwanda’s senior national basketball team will then resume training after Memorial tournament on June 11, which is three weeks before the side come to Kampala.

The Zone Five tourney is set to attract countries like Egypt, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Somalia Ethiopia and South Sudan.

The tourney will act as a regional qualifier for the inaugural FIBA AfroCan tournament which will be hosted by Mali.

Provisional Squad:

Point guards: Emmanuel Iyakaremye, Ali Kazingufu Kubwimana, Olivier Turatsinze, and Wilson Nshobozwabyosenumukiza.

Shooting guards and small forwards: Pascal Niyonkuru, Fiston Irutingabo, Dieudone Ndizeye, Steven Hagumintwari and Emile Gallois Kazeneza.

Power forwards: Olivier Shyaka and Shaffi Habineza

Centers: Kami Kabange Milambwe, Victor Mutabaruka and Elie Kaje.
