Uganda Cranes: Squad Of 20 Players For COSAFA Confirmed

Uganda Cranes coach for the COSAFA team Abdullah Mubiru has confirmed a squad of 20 players.

The side that will leave on Wednesday, will begin the tournament at the quarterfinal stage against Lesotho on Saturday 1st June 2019.

The team has been in residential training for the last 2 weeks and played a practice match with Western Region Select team which ended 1-0 in favour of Cranes in Bushenyi.

From the initial list that was earlier released, Allan Okello and Bashir Mutanda are the two names missing. Okello travelled to Zurich for trails while Mutanda was removed from camp due to an injury, it was said.

The duo were replaced by Express’ Michael Birungi and Dan Isiagi (Al Nasir) – The latter is the only non locally based player on the team.

Defender Isaac Isinde will be the captain due to his vast experience with the National team.
