Wakiso Giants Part Ways With Head Coach

Newly promoted Uganda Premier league outfits Wakiso Giants have confirmed the departure of head coach Ibrahim Kirya.

Kirya guided the one year old club to UPL from Big league on their first attempt.

The club statement, signed by CEO Sula Kamoga, seen by this website clarified that the Coach’s one year contract has expired and are not renewing it.

“We would like to thank Kirya for his hard work and commitment over the past 12 months. He has been a joy to work with a z a complete gentleman,” reads the document in part.

At the club in the league, he won 11 games, eight draws and one loss (against Kyetume FC) to finish with 41 points atop the Elgon group. They lost the overall championship to Proline FC however. And they were knocked out by Kyetume FC in the Uganda Cup at quarter finals stage.

Kirya has had stints with URA FC and SC Villa among others.

The club is rumoured to be in talks with Mbarara’s Livingston Mbabazi and Police’s Abdullah Mubiru to fill the void.
