The final 12 that will represent Uganda at the next month’s World Cup has been revealed.
The squad seen by this website, as expected, will be led by the experienced Australia Peace Proscovia who now turns out for Sunshine Coast Lightning in Suncorp Super Netball league.
The tall Mary Nubba Cholkoh is the other foreign based player on the team. She is vying her trade in England.
Martha Soigi (NIC) together with KCCA duo Irene Eyalu and Shaffie Nalwajja have been named as the three reserves.
The team is dominated by NIC, which has seven players of the 12 named – Ruth Meeme, Betty Kizza, Racheal Nanyonga, Joan Nampungu, Stellah Oyella, Stella Nanfuka and Namuwaya Muhayimuna.
Prisons’ trio of Lilian Ajio, Jesca Achan and Sylvia Nanyonga also make the cut.
The team, with other seven officials, will be coached by Vincent Kiwanuka. He will be assisted by Nelson Bogere.
It should be remembered that She Cranes defeated Zambia 64-56 last year at the Olympic Youth Development Centre in Lusaka in African Championship to seal their berth at the World Cup.
The sixteen team World Cup, will be the 15th edition and will be held from July 12 – 21 at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, England.
