Kajjansi United managed to take first leg advantage against Katwe United the regional league play offs played at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Kajjansi United beat Katwe United 2-1 on Tuesday and both teams will return to action on Thursday for the second leg with a spot in Big league at stake.

Kizito Dennis’s troops came prepared to get the job done against their counterparts and neighbours Katwe.

Douglas Oree bundled home the opener after 42 minuteles when he capitalised on a long ball but the hosts’ lead was however short lived.

Alex Katumba levelled matters for Katwe United just after the hour mark to revive hope for the visitors.

Oree, who had put Kajjansi in the lead, grabbed his second as the hosts regained their advantage with just five minutes to the game’s climax.

Kajjansi United head coach Kizito was not surprised with the result:

“The boys have had a number of serious training sessions and I’m not surprised by the out comes.

“However, 2-1 win doesn’t mean the job is done. We still have a job to accomplish when we visit Katwe United on Thursday at the Startimes stadium.”
