Exclusive: Mawejje Joins Al-Arabi In Kuwait

Midfield maestro Tonny Mawejje has joined Kuwait based club Al-Arabi SC for two years, this website can confirm.

The forgotten Cranes midfielder who played for Albanian side FK Tirana has signed a pre-contract that will be made permanent upon his arrival.

Al Arabi Sports club becomes Mawejje’s tenth professional club. He has featured locally for Kampala City Council (KCC, now KCCA), Police FC and URA FC before seeking for greener pastures outside in 2009.

Speaking about the new move exclusively to this website, the soft spoken Masaka-born player said:

“It’s really a nice offer and it has come in at a time I have had enough experience in Europe for quite some time and now it’s perfect to go play football and make big money as well.”

Controversially dropped from the national team ranks, it still looks if the move will avail platform for the box to box midfielder to penetrate back to the Uganda Cranes.
