After the loss against Kenya Morans, Uganda coach George Galanopoulos said that his team is still struggling to pick rebounds.

“Rebounding is our biggest problem, you can’t be sure of whether your shots will drop or. However, its rebounding and box-out which you can control,” said Galanopoulos.

“We started to miss shots which is what we didn’t want especially in important times of the game. We turned the ball over many times and kept trailing by about nine points and we couldn’t break through.

“We had a chance to tie the game with a three but the ball just bounced away. We now have to do our best to prove what we have. We have to get together and believe in ourselves.”

Against Kenya, much of the load was left to Brandon Davies who picked 21 rebounds. The supporting cast will be needed to step up against Egypt who pose a big threat with their towering height.

The five men teams, Uganda, Egypt, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania, are fighting for a single ticket to FIBA AfroCan which is going to be held in Bamako, Mali from July 19-28 this year.

Kenya has won two from as many games and stand as favourites to snatch the top spot after beating Egypt 97-79 on Thursday. They still have to face Rwanda and. A weak Tanzania side.

Uganda’s expected starting five: Jimmy Enabu, Tonny Drilleba, Robinson Opong, Deng Geu and Brandon Davies.
