Express FC’s attacking Midfielder Michael Birungi is on the brink of joining Kyetume FC, our sources have confirmed.
The Veteran is reported to be out of contract at the Wankulukuku based side and sources have claimed that Express is tabling crumbs for him to renew the contract.
Birungi was outstanding last season with struggling Express FC which earned him a place to the National team. He represented Uganda recently at the failed COSAFA Cup campaign.
He had a stellar career with KCCA before seeking for greener pastures in Sudan in 2015. He also played for Police FC and defunct Utoda FC.
Birungi is known for his trickery and fast paced attacking game from either flanks of the pitch.
It should be noted that Express has of recent let go of over 10 players after negotiations to renew contract have gone sour – Mathias Muwanga, Badru Nsubuga, Tony Odur, Shafic Kakeeto Nana, Pius Mbidde are some of the victims.
If all comes to pass, Birungi is expected to play a vital role for the newly promoted Mukono-based team that recently confirmed George Best Nsimbe and David Mutono as Coach and assistant respectively.
