Police FC won seven, lost five and drew three of the 15 league games they hosted at Lugogo last season.

It should be noted that they shifted to Lugogo from Namboole at the start of last season citing congestion after SC Villa had joined URA from Masaka.

The Available Options

St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende

Police FC is expected to host games at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende, the home of Vipers.

The new state of the art refurbished stadium has an astro turf which was the case at Lugogo.

However, Vipers President and owner of St Mary’s Stadium, Lawrence Mulindwa hinted that his stadium will not be available for hire.

However, Police FC is expected to table a pleasing offer which may tempt Mukindwa.

Also, there is a good working relationship between the two clubs, highlighted by the recent transfers with Paul Willa the latest to move from Police to Vipers.

Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku

The stadium, owned by the Buganda Kingdom is the home of Express FC.

With Express FC expected to move to a new home midway next season, the Kops may seek to take advantage of the situation.

It should be remembered that Wankulukuku has been able to house two clubs in recent seasons, with Nyamityobora the latest to use the stadium as home ground with Express. Lweza also hosted games at this stadium before getting relegated two seasons back.

However, the poor playing surface at Wankulukuku may not suit Abdullah Mubiru’s playing style, hence a turnoff.

Kavumba Recreation Centre

No team will be hosting games at Kavumba next season, as of now. Hence this may attract Police’s attention.

The stadium was used by Mbarara City in the first round before returning home to Kakyeka Stadium.

This was a home ground for Soana FC (now Tooro United) before the side moved to Buhinga in Fort portal.

It should be remembered that Police hosted three games briefly at Kavumba before confirming Namboole and a return is on the plates.
