International University of East Africa has given boxer Shafic Kiwanuka an Education bursary at their campus.

The news comes ahead of the boxer’s nearing fight with Congolese Tyson Mbikayi set for July 26 at indoor Arena in Lugogo.

Killing machine, as he prefers to be called, commended the love from IUEA and his management Great Strikers International.

“I have dreamt of extending my studies earlier and I guess this is a dream come true,” Kiwanuka said in a press briefing held at Kansanga. “This will hopefully prepare me well for my after boxing life.”

Hassan Alwi, speaking on behalf of IUEA, noted that the scholarship will for starters help Kiwanuka acquire more English skills.

Reflecting on his upcoming fight, Kiwanuka commented:

“The Killing machine is always ready to go, I have sharpened my swords and they can cut off anyone.”
