NBL: Ndejje Angels Stun KIU Titans

Ndejje University Angels beat KIU Titans 69-63 in one of the four National Basketball league games played on Sunday at YMCA court in Wandegeya, Kampala.

Walker Obedi’s side won the first quarter 16-12 but KIU Titans fought back to win the second quarter 21-16 and take a 33-32 slender advantage at halftime.

KIU won the third quarter 17-16 but Ndejje staged a late rally to win the last quarter 21-13 and seal a laboured victory.

Innocent Ochera weighed in with a game high 21 points, Gauthier Badhera and Samuel Ajack contributed 17 and 14 rebounds respectively. Derrick Katumba and David Mayom also collected 12 rebounds each for Ndejje.

Henry Okoth scored a team high 16 points for KIU, Sudi Ulanga added 13, Nunda Kiryowa managed 12 in a losing effort for a side that missed Michael Bwanga, Denis Balungu and Ethienel Kazungu.

This is the eighth win for Ndejje and as many losses from their regular season run. KIU Titans on the other hand have managed nine wins and six losses.

The Titans have only won once from their last four games after defeats against UCU Canons and City Oilers.
