*Cameroon 0-4 Morocco

Morocco obliterated hosts Cameroon in a commanding 4-0 semifinal victory to storm the final of the 2020 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).

The final will see Atlas Lions face Mali who needed penalty shootouts to oust Guinea in the other semifinal.

The defending champions got the deserved victory courtesy of goals from Soufiane Rahimi (2), Soufiane Bouftini and Mohammed Ali Bemammer.

It was a night to forget for the Intermediate Lions at Limbe Stadium, for a side that had given home fans some hope after eliminating DR Congo 2-1 at the semifinal.

Bouftini capitalised on Cameroon goalkeeper Haschou Kerido’s blunder on Omar Namsaoui freekick to bundle home from close range in the 28th minute.

Rahimi doubled the lead before halftime thanks to well worked buildup from El Kaabi and Abdelilah Hafidi in the 40th minute.

Rahimi got his second on the night in the 74th minute courtesy of poor defending from Cameroon defenders.

Bemammer put an icing on the cake in the 82nd minute a moment after Cameroon goalkeeper Kerrido had denied Walid El Karti.

The Atlas Lions seek to become the first nation to defend the CHAN tournament. They topped group C before eliminating Zambia 3-1 at quarterfinal.

In the other semi at Japoma Stadium in Douala, Mamadou Coulibaly scored the decisive penalty kick to send Mali through.

After a goalless draw in regulation time, Morlaye Sylla missed his final kick before Coulibaly won it 5-4 for Mali.

Morocco face Mali in the final at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde on Sunday while Guinea and hosts Cameroon have bragging rights to settle for the third-place playoff at the Reunification Stadium in Douala on Saturday.
