Fortebet Real Stars Sports Awards continued to reward excellence when they issued out four gongs to best performers of the concluded month of May.

The awarding ceremony was held on Tuesday morning at Route256 in Lugogo where the quartet also walked away with cash prizes.

Express FC forward Eric Kambale was named the best Footballer, beating his teammate Mathias Muwanga and URA FC forward Steven Mukwala.

The forward scored eight goals, including a hattrick against Kyetume, in six games.

Represented by Isaac Mwesigwa, the Express CEO commended the hard work and calm nature of his player.

KIU Titans experienced guard Faisal Aden was named the best basketball player, edging out Hope Akello (JKL Lady Dolphins) and Samuel Ajak (Ndejje).

“I am happy to have won this, its for the team including the players coaches and management,” Aden pointed out briefly.

The best hockey player was given to Wanainchi striker Thomas Opio who scored 10 goals from 4 games. He beat Weatherhead duo Charles Ekapolon and Timothy Ntumba.

Opio stated: “I feel happy to have won this for the first time, my journey here has been a long one and I want to say that I will continue working hard.”
