Victory meant that Uganda finished fourth in a 6-team group, guaranteeing a place in the knockout.
Tony Lakony’s side won three and lost two games – with defeats coming against neighbours Kenya and Rwanda.
They had earlier beaten Morocco and Lesotho.
Uganda will now face Egypt in Tuesday’s Quarterfinals, the Arab nation topped Pool A win five wins out of five games.
They defeated hosts Cameroon, Algeria, Nigeria, Mali and Burundi.
It’s work cut out for Uganda against Egypt who has won this title three times, they have three silver and as many bronze medals.
It’s Uganda’s biggest achievement at this competition having finished ninth back in 2007 (in Kenya) in their only other appearance at the Africa Volleyball Championship.
