The JKL Lady Dolphins emerged victorious with a 62-48 win against the KIU Rangers in Game Two, evening the best-of-seven NBL finals series at 1-1.

Following their narrow loss in Game One, where the score was 49-50 in favor of the KIU Rangers, the Lady Dolphins bounced back with a strong performance on Sunday.

Although they started with a deficit, trailing 15-16 in the first quarter, the JKL team regrouped impressively, securing victories in the subsequent quarters with scores of 15-08, 16-10, and 16-14.

Becky Longom, who joined JKL from KCCA Leopards this season, continued her excellence by achieving a double-double of 15 points and an impressive 18 rebounds.

In addition, Hope Akello delivered a remarkable 12-point and 19-rebound double-double, along with four assists.

Brenda Ekone and Rita Imanishimwe each contributed 10 points, and Flavia ‘Flirsh’ Oketcho managed to score 9 points, despite having missed Game One.

On the other hand, the KIU Rangers seemed to lack the urgency and sharpness that had propelled them to victory in Game One. Notably, they were outrebounded 40-67 in the Sunday match.

Perus Nyamwenge, who had scored a game-winning three-pointer on Friday, was the sole Rangers player to reach double digits, contributing 16 points.

The focus now shifts to Game Three, set for Wednesday at the Lugogo Indoor Arena, where the KIU Rangers will aim to rectify their performance and regain their momentum.
