•Gaddafi 0-1 Busoga United

Leaders BUL maintained their perfect start in the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League season with a 2-1 victory over SC Villa.

Ronald Otti delivered a standout performance, earning the Man of the Match award, courtesy of his goal and an assist at Wankulukuku.

From a corner, he directed a header into the path of George Kasonko, who slotted a shot through Edward Masembe’s legs for the opening goal.

Otti later netted another with a splendid header from Jeromy Kirya’s corner to double the lead before halftime.

Villa managed to pull one back in the 63rd minute, with Umar Lutalo scoring after a setup from Jonah Kakande.

However, BUL held firm to secure a hard-fought victory.

Peter Onzima, playing on the right attacking flank of the midfield, was industrious and troubled BUL’s defence but his deliveries were poor.

He also had an effort which was spilled by Joel Mutakubwa only for Jonah Kakande to miss a rebound.

Kenneth Ssemakula fired wide while Hakim Mutebi’s free kick went over the bar as Villa searched for an equaliser.

It’s the second loss for Villa, with their first against Kitara also coming at Wankulukuku.
