Preview: UPDF FC Seek to Snap Losing Run

UPDF FC aims to break their three-game losing streak as they host the unbeaten Express FC at the Bombo Barracks Ground.

In their last four games this season, UPDF FC suffered a 2-0 defeat by NEC FC in Lugogo, which marked their third loss. They managed only a point in matches against Kitara FC, Wakiso Giants, and a draw against URA FC.

Overall, the Bombo-based side has not won in their last eight matches, a record that’s spans from last season. Their most recent league victory dates back to April last season when they defeated Blacks Power 3-0 in Bombo.

Nonetheless, they enter this fixture with confidence due to their positive record against the visitors. Express FC has won only once in Bombo, back in 2016 with a 2-1 victory, and since then, they have been beaten three times and managed just one draw, scoring a single goal.

On the other hand, Express FC aims to extend their unbeaten start to the season to five matches.

They have dropped points only once, resulting in a goalless draw with Mbarara City at Wankulukuku in the season opener. Since then, they’ve secured victories against KCCA FC, Busoga United, and Bright Stars.

James Odoch’s charges have conceded only one goal this season in their 2-1 triumph over KCCA.

At the Bombo Barracks Ground, they look to secure their second win in five visits, having broken a three-game losing streak with a draw last season.

In the reverse fixture last season, they played to a one-all draw.

*UPDF FC are 14th on the log with one point after four matches.
*Pius Ngabo’s men have drawn once and lost other three matches.
*They have conceeded five goals and are yet to score.
*The Army side are winless in their last five matches with four defeats and a draw.

Express FC

*James Odoch’s charges have won three and drawn once.
*They have scored five matches and allowing one against them.
*In their last five matches, the Red Eagles have registered three wins, a draw and defeat apiece.
