Corporate League: I&M Bank Impress in Penultimate Round

The penultimate round of the Corporate League took place on Sunday, October 29th, at the Makerere University Business School playgrounds in Nakawa.

Over 40 Corporate entities competed, with I&M Bank Uganda shining in their second season, securing an impressive 11 points out of 12 available.

Despite the challenging, rain-soaked grounds, I&M Bank showcased their determined style, winning three games and drawing one.

Team manager Godfrey Odoch expressed the team’s commitment to ending the season strongly, aiming to maintain this momentum into the final round on November 26th.

“We decided, as a team, that we need to finish the season on a high,” started Odoch.

“This being the second last outing, we managed to win three games, and drew one.

“This is a very big achievement, and the plan is to carry this momentum into the final round, and hopefully win all our games on the final day.”

In their matches, I&M Bank secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Royal Van Zanteen, followed by a well-earned win over Coca Cola and a triumph against DHL, where Odoch himself scored the crucial goal.

The day concluded with a goalless draw against DTB Bank in a fiercely contested bankers’ derby.
