Kigezi Homeboyz secured their first away win of the season with a commanding 4-1 victory over Jinja North United in a FUFA Big League game at Bugembe on Monday.

Rwothomio Kemisi’s brace, along with goals from Davis Muheiwe and Ashiraf Nkurunungi, proved crucial for the visiting team.

Although Amos Etoju managed to level the score for Jinja North United from the penalty spot in the 36th minute, they were unable to mount a strong challenge against Kigezi Homeboyz.

Kigezi Homeboyz coach Denis Tushabe expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance and the result, stating, “It was an impressive performance from the boys and a good result for the team.”

He believes this win will ignite their season and hopes that their hard work will lead to more victories on the road.

Tushabe attributed the win to his team’s ability to take advantage of their chances and emphasized their goal of climbing up the league standings.

This victory marks Kigezi Homeboyz’s first away win of the season, having previously suffered defeats in their trips to Kataka, Blacks Power, Kiyinda Boys, and Calvary.

It also marks their first consecutive wins of the season, following a 2-1 victory over Young Elephants at home.

On the other hand, Jinja North United, coming off a 2-1 defeat against Kataka, continue to struggle with just one win in 10 games.

Kigezi Homeboys’ win catapults them to 8th place on the table with 13 points, while Sadiq Sempigi’s Jinja North United sits in 13th place, third from the bottom, with eight points.
