Preview: Vipers Seek To Go Top

Vipers will be targeting top spot as they travel to Luzira to take on Maroons in a league game this Wednesday.

With BUL’s draw against NEC, Vipers have the chance to match their 26 points, and as it stands, both teams have a +10 goal difference.

It’s strong to note that following this clash with Maroons, Vipers will host BUL at Kitende in what’s expected to be an electrifying encounter.

In their previous match against Kitara, Vipers clinched a hard-fought 2-1 victory, although controversy arose with the Assistant referee’s offside call denying Kitara a valid equalizer in added time.

That Assistant referee, Juma Osire, has been suspended for six months by the Federation as a result.

Bright Anukani’s two goals propelled Vipers to victory, but they’ll need an improved performance against Maroons, who have struggled at home, securing only one win in four home games this season and scoring just three goals.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that Vipers have maintained an undefeated record against Maroons, adding an extra layer of anticipation to this upcoming clash.

Last season at Luzira, Milton Karisa’s brace proved not enough as Fred Amaku and Fredrick Kigozi scored for Maroons in a 2-2 draw.
