Preview: Express Out To Halt Poor Run

Express will aim to break their seven-game winless streak when they visit NEC in a highly anticipated league match set under the Lugogo floodlights.

Currently positioned eighth, the Red Eagles find themselves trailing NEC, who sit fifth, by a considerable seven-point margin.

Few would have envisioned this at the start of the season, especially for newcomers NEC.

However, for Express, they were expected to struggle after a quiet transfer window for a club that lost some key players.

This encounter marks the third match under the guidance of coach Alex Isabirye who was appointed to replace James Odoch.

Express enters this game following a narrow 1-0 away defeat against Kitara, in a game they displayed an impressive fighting spirit, improving from their poor show in a derby loss againt rivals SC Villa at Wankulukuku.

This fixture is the second for Express under Lugogo pitch this season, reminiscing their victorious 2-1 triumph against KCCA earlier.

However, Express faces a formidable challenge in NEC, a side that has established itself as a force in the league during their debut season.

Led by the experienced coach Hussein Mbalangu, NEC has troubled top team’s including URA and KCCA.

Notably, they held BUL to a competitive 1-1 draw in Njeru and return to Lugogo, where they secured a convincing 2-0 victory against URA.

The clash promises an engaging encounter between two sides hungry for points, each with its unique aspirations within the league.
