Preview: URA Seeks First Away Win

URA are eager to secure their first away victory this season as they face Busoga United at Njeru.

The Tax Collectors have managed only three draws in their six away fixtures so far: a goalless draw against UPDF, and two 1-1 draws against Bright Stars and Maroons.

They have suffered three consecutive away defeats, failing to score in those matches: 0-1 against BUL, 0-2 against Vipers, and 0-2 against NEC.

Despite these challenges, head coach David Obua remains unfazed by their away form, expressing faith in their process, which he believes will yield results over time.

“I won’t chase results; instead, I’ll focus on our process. The players are adapting to a new style gradually, and I’m pleased with their learning and dedication,” said Obua.

Currently sitting 7th in the standings with 16 points, URA enters the Busoga match with confidence following a convincing 4-1 victory over struggling Arua Hill in their previous game.

In their last meeting at Kakindu, URA secured a 4-0 victory with goals from Living Kabon (brace), George Ssenkaba, and Derrick Nsibambi against Busoga United.

Meanwhile, Busoga United aims to return to winning ways against URA FC in their Njeru encounter.

They have gone winless in their last three games since their 2-1 victory against KCCA at Njeru last month, which remains their only home win of the season.

In their recent outings, Busoga managed only a 1-1 draw against Maroons and suffered defeats against Villa (0-2) and Wakiso Giants (0-3) in their last match.

With only three wins, seven goals scored, and nineteen conceded in the league’s first half so far, Busoga sits 12th in the standings with 11 points, just above the relegation zone.

A win in this fixture is crucial to avoid a repeat of their struggles from the previous season.

The last time Busoga claimed victory against URA at home was in February 2020, with a resounding 3-0 win at the Mighty Arena, courtesy of goals from David Bagoole, Nelson Mandera, and Lawrence Tezikya.
