  • Kampala Queens Vs Kawempe Muslim – 4 PM Lugogo

The FUFA Women’s Super League is set to resume this Wednesday after a hiatus since last November.

Following a pause to accommodate various Women’s National Team commitments, the league returns with a highly anticipated fixture: defending champions Kampala Queens facing off against record league winners Kawempe Muslim.

The significant development at Kampala Queens is the appointment of Charles Ayiekho Lukula as their new coach.

Ayiekho succeeded Sam Ssenyange Kadidi, who departed from the club by mutual agreement.

In addition to Ayiekho’s arrival, Margaret Kunihira and Grace Aluka have departed for Tanzania’s Ceasiae Queens FC in search of new opportunities.

The clash with Kawempe Muslim marks a significant test for Ayiekho as he embarks on his managerial journey with the Queens of Soccer.

Kawempe Muslim was the only team to defeat Kampala Queens last season, ending their unbeaten streak and eliminating them from the FUFA Women’s Super Cup.

Currently leading the standings with 10 points, Ayiekho and his coaching staff are eager for a positive start despite the challenge posed by their opponents.

He will be without Shamirah Nalugya and Gloria Namakula who are out injured.

On the other hand, Kawempe Muslim aims to upset the defending champions as the league resumes.

An update from the FUFA website confirms that Samalie Nakacwa, Shakirah Nyinagahirwa, and Hadijah Nandago have returned to Kawempe Muslim after their loan spell at Kampala Queens concluded in December.

Under the guidance of coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi, Kawempe Muslim currently sits fourth on the table with seven points from three games. A victory against Kampala Queens would draw them level with the defending champions.

The Visitors will bank on some experienced players in the team including Yudaya Nakayenze who returned after a stint in the United States.
