Alpesh Ramjani Nominated for World Cricketer of the Year

Following his record making season, Cricket Cranes’ all-rounder Alpesh Ramjani has earned himself a seat on the table of men.

The left-arm spinner has been nominated for the T20I Cricketer of the Year 2023 award alongside India’s Suryakumar Yadav, Sikandar Raza from Zimbabwe and Mark Chapman from New Zealand.

In a year that the Cricket Cranes made history by qualifying for their first ever World Cup, Ramjani hit a personal milestone. The leftie set a T20I record, bagging 55 wickets. It was the most ever managed by anyone in a calendar year in T20I cricket.

“It’s a great feeling to represent uganda at the highest level and being nominated with other legends is a great feeling altogether.” An elated Ramjani told this website hearing about his nomination.

The middle order batter also added 449 runs to his crazy bowling figures and turned out with 5 catches.

His fellow all-rounder in this nomination, Raza picked 17 wickets while scoring 515 runs. Yadav notched 733 runs and getting 40 catches while Chapman recorded 576 runs and five catches.

Whether Alpesh wins the award or not, being in the same sentence as the above is a win already for the Ugandan.
