Uganda Cranes head coach Put Paul Joseph has named the final 22-man squad that will travel to Egypt for the friendly game against Kuwait slated for 19th January 2024.
Only three players have been left behind, of all the initially 25 players who were summoned to enter residential camp on Thursday, 11th January 2024.
BUL FC goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa did not make the final list, as SC Villa attacking midfielder Umar Lutalo and Vipers SC captain Milton Karisa were also left out due to injuries.
“Milton Karisa and Umar Lutalo earlier withdrew from the team after sustaining injuries,” FUFA confirmed on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Uganda Cranes contingent has this evening already departed for Cairo, Egypt ahead of the International Friendly.
The team travelled aboard Ethiopian Airlines (ET335) and will have a stop over in Addis Ababa before connecting to Cairo.
The whole travelling team is fully comprised of locally based players.
