Nam Blazers faced a stunning defeat, succumbing to a 65-76 loss against Our Saviour in an exhilarating National Basketball League showdown at Lugogo on Sunday.

Despite entering the clash with high spirits from a previous 63-59 triumph against KIU Titans in the league opener last Friday, the Blazers found themselves in a favorable position with a 17-point lead midway through the game.

However, the tide turned in the second half as Our Saviour, coming off a victory over JKL Dolphins on Saturday, mounted a compelling comeback.

Restricting Nam Blazers to just nine points compared to their 26, they leveled the score at 54-54, setting the stage for a nail-biting last quarter.

Although Nam Blazers initially led by four in the opening minutes of the final quarter, Our Saviour orchestrated a decisive nine-point run, seizing control of the game and never relinquishing it.

Moses Mugisha showcased stellar performance, delivering a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Kenneth Mesho and Henry Ssebagala contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Notably, Peter Cheng and Paul Odongo, with 11 and 10 points in that order, were the sole Blazers players to reach double digits.

The Blazers faced considerable challenges, recording a mere 10% accuracy from beyond the arc, being out-rebounded 39-46 on the boards, and committing a substantial 27 turnovers throughout the game.
