•Bright Stars 1-0 Wakiso Giants

In a thrilling Wakiso Derby at Kavumba, Nelson Ssenkatuka secured a dramatic victory for Bright Stars over visiting Wakiso Giants with a lone goal in the 89th minute.

The striker, receiving a precise pass from Nordin Bunjo with his back facing the goal, executed a swift turn, and firing beyond Bashir Ssekagya’s reach.

The match witnessed a tale of two halves, as Wakiso Giants dominated the first but faltered in the second.

Wakiso’s Tom Masiko had a chance to put his team ahead, but goalkeeper Hassan Matovu’s fingertip save denied the midfielder’s free kick.

Matovu continued to showcase his prowess, thwarting a near-post attempt from Hassan Ssenyonjo just before halftime.

Despite Ssenkatuka’s initial struggles due to a lack of upfront support, his late heroics secured the crucial three points for Bright Stars with his 11th goal of the season.

With this win, Bright Stars climbed to ninth place in the standings with 21 points, while Wakiso Giants find themselves in 12th position with 16 points, holding onto a precarious one-point lead above the safety zone.
