FUFA Summons Onduparaka Over Uganda Cup No-show

FUFA is set to take disciplinary action against Onduparaka Football Club following their failure to honor a scheduled fixture in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

In a letter dated February 6th, 2024, the FUFA disciplinary panel summoned Onduparaka after they failed to show up for their round of 64 match against Kyambura Rasters on January 31st, 2024.

In light of these events, FUFA has drawn Onduparaka’s attention to the relevant provisions in article 15 of the FUFA competitions rules 2023. Article 15(36) stipulates that participation in the Uganda Cup is compulsory for clubs in the 1st and 2nd divisions at the round of 64 stage, and for 3rd division clubs at lower rounds.

Article 15(37) states that any club in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd division leagues failing to participate in the competition may face disciplinary action.

The potential disciplinary actions outlined by FUFA include deduction of league points, monetary fines, future exclusion from the competition, suspension from the respective league, and demotion to a lower league.

Onduparaka has been given until Thursday, February 8th, 2024, to submit a written statement to the FUFA disciplinary panel. This statement should clarify, contend, or dispute the club’s actions regarding their failure to participate in the Uganda Cup fixture.
