City Oilers Appoint Moroccan Coach For 2024 BAL

City Oilers basketball team has made a strategic move ahead of the 2024 Basketball Africa League (BAL) by hiring Moroccan coach Karim Nesba.

Nesba, a former Moroccan international player, brings a wealth of experience to the Ugandan giants as they prepare to compete in the prestigious BAL tournament.

Nesba was part of Oilers’ training session on Tuesday at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.

His appointment comes with high expectations, as he is tasked with leading the team through the challenges of the 2024 BAL Nile Conference.

The Oilers are set to face tough competition from teams such as Al Ahly (Egypt), Al Ahly Benghazi (Libya), and Bangui (Central African Republic).

The 2024 BAL Nile Conference is scheduled to kick off on April 19 at the Dr Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall in Egypt.

With Nesba at the helm, the City Oilers are gearing up for intense battles on the court as they aim to make a mark in the tournament.

Nesba is the NBA Academy Africa player development coach who also played for AS Sale.

His experience and expertise are expected to be invaluable assets for the City Oilers as they navigate the challenges of the BAL competition.

In addition to the coaching appointment, the Oilers are also making moves to strengthen their roster. Fallando Jones and Dane Miller are set to join the team, adding further depth and talent ahead of their campaign in Cairo.
