As we drift towards the climax of the 2023/2024 Startimes Uganda Premier League campaign, a number of teams are fighting to avoid relegation.
With Arua Hill already relegated to the FUFA Big League after failing to meet the minimum club licensing requirements at the start of the second round, two more clubs will join them in the Big League.
Non of the teams in the bottom ten are safe from dropping to the second tier after match day 22.
However, one of UPDF FC, Gaddafi FC or Busoga United looks the favorites to face the drop compared to Wakiso Giants, Soltilo Bright Stars and Mbarara City who are just a few points from sealing there fate in the league.
It’s survival for the fittest for the teams at the wrong end of the table as all the remaining games are final.
Up next is a relegation six pointer as UPDF FC welcome Gaddafi FC at the Bombo Barracks Ground on Tuesday 16th April while Busoga United will visit Maroons at the Luzira Prisons Ground two days later.
Pius Ngabo men have a lighter fixtures compared to Gaddafi FC and Busoga United with four of there seven matches at home. SC Villa and KCCA are the only tougher opponents on paper.
Gaddafi FC still have to visit BUL and Kitara after hosting SC Villa.
Busoga United on the other side will have to be on top of there game if they are to survive as they still have three of the clubs vying for the title in BUL, Kitara & Vipers in there last three matches.
