City Oilers Shift Focus To NBL

Friday, May 3
•KCCA Leopards Vs JKL Lady Dolphins – 7pm
•Dmark Power Vs City Oilers – 9pm

City Oilers aim to tip off their second round campaign in the National Basketball League with a strong performance against struggling Dmark Power.

Following a disappointing outing at the Basketball Africa League, where they secured just one victory in the Nile Conference to miss out of the Playoffs in Kigali, the team has refocused on the NBL.

With key local players like Tonny Drilleba, James Okello, Fayed Baale, Titus Lual, Ivan Muhwezi, and Allawi Seenkubuge returning from Cairo, the Oilers are eager to make an impact, especially after limited minutes at the BAL.

Players such as Rogers Dauna, Malual Dier, Edrine Walujjo, Moses Maker, and Benjamin Kawumi, who missed the BAL trip, are expected to contribute in Friday’s game.

Having dominated Power in their previous encounter with a 73-38 victory, the Oilers are poised for another commanding performance.

The nine-time league winners topped the first round with 10 wins, their only loss against Nam Blazers.

In contrast, Power concluded the first round with four wins and seven losses, and their struggles have persisted into the second round, losing all three games so far.

Despite the addition of Kevin Ongunjim, Clinton Omondi, and Taariq Powell, Power is yet to see significant improvement.
