KIU Titans registered a resounding 106-53 victory over Ndejje University Angels on Wednesday in the National Basketball League game at Lugogo.

The game, a one-sided affair from the start, highlighted the Titans’ offensive prowess right from onset.

The Titans burst out of the gate, establishing a commanding 24-8 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looking back.

American shooting guard Zuri Campbell made an impressive debut, contributing 13 points, five rebounds, and an assist, signaling his potential impact for the team in future games.

The ever green Kasereka Tembo led the scoring with 20 points, while Edgar Munaaba added a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Stanley Mugerwa also recorded a double-double, contributing 12 points and 10 rebounds. Joel Lukoji’s all-around performance included 8 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.

In stark contrast, Ndejje University Angels struggled to find their rhythm. Only two players, Cikom Monybai with 19 points and Haron Arinaitwe with 11 points, managed to score in double digits. Monybai also grabbed 20 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to offset the team’s overall struggles, including a staggering 33 turnovers and being out-rebounded 42-53.

The Titans drilled in 13 three-pointers from 39 attempts, and visibly used the game as a preparatory exercise for tougher challenges ahead.

Coach Julius Lutwama, flanked by Nasser Sserunjogi, will be pleased with the team’s performance but aware that stiffer tests lie ahead.

This victory marks the KIU Titans’ 13th win in 16 games this season, solidifying their strong position in the league.

Conversely, the Ndejje Angels suffered their 15th loss, leaving them at the bottom of the standings.
