Boxer John Sserunjogi is gearing up for a titanic clash against South African-based Congolese boxer Jason Medi on June 22 at Club Obligato in Kampala.

The bout, a highlight of the Sweet Science season three event organized by Nara Promotions, promises to be an electrifying night of boxing, with several undercard fights leading up to the main event.

Jason Medi, who secured the WBF African Light Heavyweight title in March, poses a significant threat.

However, Sserunjogi, undeterred by his opponent’s accolades, is confident in his own abilities.

He won the WBA Africa Super Middleweight title last December by defeating Guinea’s Ibo Maier and is ready for the challenge.

“I know it’s going to be a tough fight, this will be a battle of men. He has won here and there, but I am determined to stop him,” Sserunjogi stated.

“I have had to climb the weight, but I will beat him and everyone will accept that I have really made some vast improvements.”

Sserunjogi emphasized the stakes of the fight, framing it as a decisive battle between two prestigious boxing organizations.

“This will be a do or die, it’s WBF Vs WBA. It will be real fighting. And I hope to stop him in the sixth round,” he declared.

Per Boxrec, Sserunjogi has lost two of his 14 pro fights, with the defeats coming against Indian Pawan Goyat (2016) and Kenyan Rayton Okwiri (2021).
