The trio of Fildauce Namuleme, Malcolm Okello and Shadiah Nabirye stood out in May as Fortebet Real Star Monthly awards continued to reward excellence in Sports.

Namuleme has been awarded from Netball, edging out fellow nominees Racheal Nannyonga and Christine Namulumba.

Namuleme’s stellar performance at the East Africa Netball Championship in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, earned her the MVP title.

She led NIC to victory in all eight of their round-robin matches. In the final, NIC triumphed over Zanzibar’s KVC with a decisive score of 62-37, securing their 22nd championship title.

Malcom Okello, the fullback for Heathens, took the rugby gong. Okello was chosen over nominees Emily Lekuru and Ivan Magomu. He played a pivotal role in the Rugby Championship semifinals, scoring 19 points in the first leg against rivals Kobs, leading to a 29-18 victory at Legends.

Although Heathens lost the second leg 18-13, Okello’s try and penalty helped the team advance to the finals on aggregate with a score of 42-36. Heathens went on to secure their 17th League title.

Shadia Nabirye of Kawempe Muslim has been named the Fortebet Real Star Award winner for football, surpassing fellow nominees Emmanuel Ajo and Milton Karisa.

Nabirye was the top scorer at the CAF Schools Championship, netting three goals.

Her leadership as team captain was instrumental in Kawempe’s third-place finish at the tournament in Zanzibar, which earned the team a prize of $150,000.

The awards are sponsored by Fortebet and Jude Colour Solutions.
