Nam Blazers, KIU Titans Put Winning Streaks on the Line

Friday, June 7
*UCU Canons Vs JT Lady Jaguars – 7pm
*Nam Blazers vs KIU Titans – 9pm

Nam Blazers face KIU Titans in a high stakes National Basketball League fixture on Friday.

The Titans are riding high with a remarkable nine-game winning streak since their 61-67 loss to the KCCA Panthers in April.

The addition of American guard Zuri Campbell, who has made an immediate impact by averaging 15 points per game, has made the side look indomitable.

Alongside Campbell, the Titans boast a formidable lineup with Edgar Munaaba, Kasereka Tembo, Peter Obleng, and Joel Lukoji all averaging double digits in scoring.

Mpiya Juf and Ahmed Kassa have also been crucial contributors, making the Titans a formidable opponent.

However, the Blazers come into this game with confidence, having defeated the Titans 63-59 in their first-round meeting on January 26.

They are on a seven-game winning streak of their own, recovering impressively since their last defeat to the UCU Canons in March.

With a season record of 15 wins and three losses, the Blazers have proven their mettle and will be aiming to complete a double over the Titans.

New addition Jimmy Williams has been a standout performer for the Blazers, averaging 21 points in his two games with the team.

Peter Cheng, Joseph Chuma, and Innocent Ochera are also key scorers, each averaging double digits.

Michael Makiadi and Paul Odong provide additional firepower, making the Blazers a well-rounded team.

The KIU Titans have also faced defeat thrice this season, with the other loss coming at the hands of the nine-time champions, City Oilers.

But with the Oilers’ recent struggles with a depleted squad, the tilt look to hage shifted, and the spotlight is now firmly on the Nam Blazers and KIU Titans, who could potentially face off in the season’s final if they avoid meeting in the earlier playoff rounds.

Friday’s clash is not just a battle for league standings but a potential preview of a championship showdown, as both teams seek to assert their dominance and build momentum heading into the playoffs.
