Uganda Cranes: We Will Fight Until the End – Shaban

Uganda Cranes forward Muhammad Shaban has vowed to keep fighting until the very end, following their crucial 1-0 victory over Botswana in the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Shaban, who scored the decisive goal in the 74th minute, emphasized that the team remains focused and undeterred by their recent success.

In an exclusive interview with Sports Nation, Shaban, the Uganda Premier League top scorer with 17 goals, expressed his gratitude towards the fans and the collective effort of his teammates and coaches.

“I am very happy and excited to score for my nation. I thank the fans for their support, my fellow players, and coaches for the great work. It wasn’t an easy task, but we managed to overcome with the guidance of The Almighty Allah. If it wasn’t for Him, we wouldn’t have won,” Shaban said.

Shaban made it clear that the team will not rest on their laurels and is already focused on their next challenge against Algeria.

“We will fight until the end. We want the three points against Algeria, and we know we have to work for it. It’s not going to come easily, but with the support of our fans, we will always fight for it.”

Shaban’s goal secured a vital win for the Uganda Cranes, placing them third in Group G with six points from three games.

A win against Algeria would propel the Cranes to the top of the group, leapfrogging the current leaders.
