Rugby Cranes Take Africa Cup Preps To South Africa

The Uganda Rugby Cranes XVs team are off to Pretoria, South Africa for an intensive Boot Camp with Blue Bulls.

They will use the trip to have a series of trial matches as they gear up the team for the upcoming 2024 Rugby Africa Cup, set to be hosted in Kampala.

The Uganda Rugby Union (URU) received an invitation from the Harlequins Rugby Club, a member of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union (BBRU), as part of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the URU and BBRU.

South Africa is renowned for developing and producing top-tier rugby talent and it’s an opportunity the Union will hope to capitalize.

The tour will feature three test games, scheduled as follows:

  • June 29, 2024: vs Limpopo Country Districts XV in Modimolle (Nylstroom H/s)
  • July 2, 2024: vs Supa Barbarians in Johannesburg (Pirates Rugby Club)
  • July 5, 2024: vs Loftus 200 in Pretoria (Harlequin Rugby Club)
