*Kitara 1-2 NEC

Paul Mucureezi was rushed to the hospital after losing consciousness during NEC’s 2-1 victory over Kitara in a Uganda Premier League match at Royals Park in Butema, Hoima.

The forward, playing against his former team, collided with Kitara captain Max Owachgiu in an aerial challenge and suffered a bad fall.

Players quickly responded, attempting to stabilize his neck and head before medical staff arrived to take over.

Mucureezi was then whisked away in an ambulance for further medical attention, replaced by James Jarieko.

The Winger has since stabilized.

Despite the unsettling moment, NEC pressed on and sealed their second victory from as many games in the league.

Enock Ssebagala opened the scoring in the 50th minute with a powerful strike that Kitara goalkeeper Crispus Kusiima could not keep out.

Kitara responded when Kabon Living converted a penalty after Denis Omedi was fouled by Geriga Atendele.

However, NEC regained their lead through Gaddafi Wahab, who came off the bench to volley home a stunning goal in the 80th minute after controlling the ball with his chest.

NEC now sits on six points from two games, having won their opener 3-1 against Vipers.

Kitara remain on three points following their 3-0 win over Lugazi in the first round.
