Pistis Barenge has renewed his contract with Mbarara City FC, the Ankole Lions has confirmed on Wednesday.

The midfielder who joined Mbarara in 2017 from Burundi club Vital’o, has signed a one year contract.

“We have managed to secure Barenge’s signature for another year,” Osborne Mushabe, Mbarara’s PRO told the-SportsNation. “It’s one year because he can’t sign more than that because of work permit issues.”

This ends the recent speculations that had linked Barenga to join Livingston Mbabazi (former Mbarara coach) at Onduparaka FC.

It should be noted that Mbarara released about eight players and have consequently added Gaddafi Gadinho and Solomon Okwalinga among others.
