City Oilers and JKL Dolphins will be targeting to return to winning ways when both sides face off at YMCA court in Wandegeya, Kampala.

Both sides come into the game with a similar 3-2 record – won three and lost twice, and similarly, those two losses have come in their last two games each, as well.

After falling to UCU Canons and Warriors back to back, City Oilers will be on pressure to end this poor streak to put their chances of getting a good regular season spot on the log, in limelight.

JKL Dolphins on the other end have already proved that they want to go further than a playoff semis and they have to reaffirm this, in games like this. They beat Betway Power for their third win but losses against KIU Titans and Ndejje have been setbacks.

To beat Oilers, JKL will have to be near perfect – defend better, shoot better, avoid reckless turnovers and of course, getting the best from their bench.

Most important of all, JKL’s stars like Brian Namake have got to step up in such games. He has been a real shadow of himself from last season’s brilliance.

Good works from JKL’s new signings mostly Daniel Manoja, Bernard Okumu and Joseph Wacha have lifted the side, especially in their first games in wins against KCCA, Kampala University and Power. But its the consistency which will be the biggest key at the end of the season.

JKL Dolphins (blue) will have to defend better.

City Oilers have won the last four meetings against JKL. They beat them 72-67 and 78-66 in regular season. They had won both games 80-65 and 73-37 in 2017.

After their loss against Warriors, Oilers Coach Mandy Juruni blamed injuries on most of his players, and its something that JKL must capitalise on to pull a shocker.
