*Betway Power Vs Sharing Youth, 8:30 PM

It will be renewal of rivalry as traditional giants Betway Power and Falcons meet in the National Basketball League encounter at YMCA court in Wandegeya, Kampala.

Nine league rings are shared between these sides, with Falcons edging Power on five titles.

Falcons pose with their rich history that goes back to 1998 when they won their first championship before adding more in 1999, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2007. It’s been 12 years since they last won silverware.

There has been a power shift, the money of City Oilers. However, Power has managed to remain close to the table of men, unlike Falcons who just got back in top flight after that 2017 relegation blow.

First forward, nine games into the season, Falcons have won twice and lost seven. They beat Our Saviour and fellow promoted side Kampala University.

Against Power, there don’t need any extra motivation to understand what the game means to them, they will need to draw much energy from their recent form if they are to upset the odds.

Douglas ‘Daggy’ Uwizera gave the team just four minutes against KU, and he will expected to get involved more, if his knee let’s him on the night.

However, it will be Andrew ‘Mabenzi’ Opiyo’s ability to clear the board and contest every Power shot that has to keep Falcons alive.

Michael Kojo, Dickson Asiku, Henry Mbazira and Vinnie Jurua are the other stars that have to drive Falcons forward against an old enemy.

Power have won four and lost as many this season and its games like this one which they must win in case they want to get a good placement after the end of the regular season.

They have won twice in a row since falling to UCU Canons and may want to win the rest of their games in the first round, with the other remaining games being Kampala University and Ndejje Angels.

The last time both teams faced off, was in 2017, and Power won 89-53 and 86-51 in the regular season.

The Betway Sponsored team, in their last win against KCCA Men, missed Philip Ameny, Fahmy Ssebatindira and Philip Ameny, and it’s not yet known if the trio will be play a part.

However, with Joseph Ikong, Geoffrey Soro, Libe Makala, Brian Sivachi and Paul Odong firing on all cylinders, Coach Arnold Mchuda has enough armoury to take down Falcons.
