Official: Tooro United Announce Executive Leadership Restructure

Uganda Premier League side, Tooro United, founded in 2007 as Soana F.C has taken new shape in their administration.

The side, in a press briefing held on Tuesday afternoon at Acacia Mall, announced Spelito Ssesanga as a new board director.

Ssesanga will now co-share the operations at the club with founder Smart Obedi. He will now own 49% of the club shares against Obedi’s 51, the club confirmed.

“I was here alone and everything used to depend on me,” noted majority shareholder Obedi. “This is a good move and I believe ot is going to help our club move forward.”

Obedi assured the pressman that he has a good working relationship with his new partner and there will no conflict of interest.

“This will help the club even without my presence unlike in the past when everything had to depend on e being around.

“There is nothing much we earn from the club. This is football which we are still building and we may not earn anything in years to come.”

Ssesanga noted that he brings new and big ideas on board for development of the club. He revealed that he has been a good friend of Obedi for many years.

“I return to football with Tooro United which I think is a good club with right ambitions,” noted Ssesanga who commented that he had a brief spell with KCCA FC.

The club also confirmed Michael Wandera as the new new club Chairman. Wandera, who is the Sports Minister in Tooro United replaces Peter Emojon.

In similar developments, Tooro United has also confirmed that Wasswa Bbosa has renewed his contract by one year as the new coach.

The club has moved their offices from Lumumba Avenue to Acacia mall, room 234.

It should be noted that Soana (now Tooro United) were promoted to the Ugandan Super League for the first time in 2013.
