Official: Vipers Sack Entire Technical Team

Premier League club Vipers SC have dissolved their technical team with just about two months to the start of the 2019/20 Premier League season.

The club has confirmed the development via their official website:

“Vipers Sports Club would like to announce that coach Michael Nam Ouma has left the club.

“The Club has also dissolved the technical department with immediate effect.”

The club revealed that they have started a process for the recruitment of a new coach and technical staff.

Nam Ouma was appointed in December last year, replacing Mexican Javier Martinez.

He failed to help the Kitende based side to retain their league title as they succumbed to second place.

The team included Edward Golola, Moses Oloya, Edward Ssali and Ram Nyakana.

It should be noted that Nam won nine of 15 second round games to finish seven points short of the league title. KCCA won the league on 66 points as Vipers collected 59 to occupy second place.

Nam had turned Vipers into a team that plays attacking football, better than that of his predecessor.

However, his career came at a low when the club lost to Proline FC in the Uganda Cup, the only title that Vipers were destined to win. Also, he was criticised in home losses against rivals SC Villa and URA FC.

Vipers who will start the new season with Allan Kayiwa, Paul, Siraje Ssentamu and Rashid Toha, will be in quest to dethrone KCCA FC in the league that is expected to start in September.
