Barenge, formerly at Burundi’s top tier side Vital’O football club joined Mbarara City in July 2017 on a two year deal.

He extended his contract for just one season in June last year.

Barenge is a workaholic midfielder who is normally employed to play in front of the back-line and sits just behind Solomon Okwalinga and Bebe Swalik on most occasions.

The Ankole Lions, coached by Brian Ssenyondo, have already lost Ibrahim Orit while Brian Aheebwa’s move-away looks inevitable.
