The Untold Story Behind Taddeo Lwanga’s Exit From Tanta SC

Egypt Premier League side Tanta SC ‘released’ Uganda Cranes midfielder Taddeo Lwanga and Gabon’s Mario Bernard Mario on Wednesday.

The duo were signed before the start of the 2019/20 season which is set to resume in three weeks time.

This website has established that the the duo demanded to be released following the financial crisis at Tanta SC.

Lwanga has not been paid since January, our sources have been told.

On July 2, 2020, Yellow Management Company based in France that represents Lwanga and Mario wrote to Tanta SC President requesting to terminate the contract of the duo.

In the letter, Yennebouchila Lowe Jean (Yellow Management) also asked Tanta SC to clear the salary and signing bonus payments of their players which had to be paid since January 2020.

Taddeo had signed a three-year contract with Tanta SC from Vipers after impressing the side during the AFCON finals held in Egypt.

Many have advised Tanta SC President to seek financial assistance from the Gharbia Governor Dr Tariq Rahmi to bail out the club since it’s the only club representating the Western Governorate in the Egypt Premier League.

Tanta SC managed to bounce back from the second division and were promoted to top flight in the 2018/19 season.

The club sit in 15th place, just above relegation with 16 points after 18 games.
